Devonstone Fashion - Summer Aboard - Rayon - Top of the Alm Field Green
Summer Abroad by Lindsey Rae of Sew to Grow
I started my sewing journey back in Texas as a kid sewing up little cushions and bags that turned into my side hustle at age 16. Through the years I've also worked at a large sewing shop in NC and as a State Manager for a sewing machine company.
I now live on the Sunny Coast of Australia with my Aussie hubby and lil pup Cranky Frankie. When I'm not sewing you can find me painting, crafting, op-shopping, making cocktails, or going camping in our recently renovated caravan
100% RAYON 110GSM 140CM WIDE
Rayon is a semi-synthetic fabric made of cellulose fiber such as wood pulp or bamboo. Soft, silky and lightweight, it has a similar drape to silk and a smooth hand, yet it is also a strong fabric. Rayon’s fluid drape makes it a great choice for clothing that flows, from drapey tops to loose bottoms. It’s moisture absorbency and breathability aslo make it popular for athleticwear. To sew rayon, use a 80/11 needle and cotton or all-purpose thread. Prewash rayon to avoid shrinkage. To care for your rayon makes, wash in cold water on the delicate cycle, and avoid the tumble dryer. When pressing rayon use a medium heat dry iron and a pressing cloth.
